Jude Selected for Exclusive Free Residency with Vamos Theatre – September 2025

Vamos Theatre offers session-free programs that begin with free full mask taster workshops at the Old Vic in Bristol in June 2025, which he attended. The workshops focused on full mask performance. Around nine or ten people participated, and only two were selected for a free residency — he was one of them. The residency is aimed at graduates who then become part of the alumni network and gain access to further training opportunities in the future.

Jude Joins Deafinitely Youth Theatre Summer School 2025 as Assistant

This opportunity allows him to work with Deafinitely Youth Theatre for the first time since he was a member of DYT. He will be working alongside one of the team leads and supporting young BSL users aged 14 to 21 who will be taking part in the DYT Summer School 2025, held in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, in August 2025.

Jude Joins Elevate Workshop by Vamos Theatre at Bristol Old Vic, June 2025

This opportunity makes him feel he should join because, during the workshop, he will learn non-verbal and physical storytelling. Although he has acting training and experience, he has never used or been aware of physical storytelling, so it would be beneficial for him to learn and possibly incorporate it in the future.

Jude Makes His TV Debut as Jake Green in Acorn TV’s ‘The Chelsea Detective’

In May 2024, the casting director selected him to audition in Soho, London, for the role of Jake Green in The Chelsea Detective. He was offered the role and will appear in Season 3 on Acorn TV channels worldwide. The episode will be released in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.

Jude Officially Joins Spotlight and Launches His Acting Profile

Powell heard a lot about Spotlight, and his agency, Aston Management, advised him to have a Spotlight profile for his acting career, as it is the largest casting resource in the United Kingdom. However, his first application was not successful. It wasn't easy for him to join until he finally succeeded due to his good credit.

Jude Lands First Role in Drama-Comedy TV Movie ‘The Chris Baker Show’—Streaming Tomorrow on Lumo TV

In August 2024, a director from Mutt & Jeff Pictures asked Jude to audition for a role, which he was offered. He worked with a well-known Deaf comedian, famous for his role as Chris Baker in the Small World series, and also served as the second assistant camera operator, covering for someone.

Jude Joins National Youth Theatre’s New Digital Accelerator Workshop with Microsoft

Jude will be attending the National Youth Theatre's workshop for the first time since joining the NYT Hub. The workshop will explore how AI is used in TV and film production and how new technologies can make storytelling more inclusive and accessible. Jude will attend the session in London in January and February 2025.

Jude Becomes Official Controller of His IMDb Profile

Before Jude had his own IMDb account, he noticed his name and credits were already listed on IMDb while he was performing in the short film Ava's Story. Now that he has taken over this account, his agent can manage it to update information, ensuring that his work is included in IMDb's movie and TV show statistics as an actor and possibly in other roles.

Jude Earns Gold Arts Award Through Deafinitely Youth Theatre

Jude is ecstatic about achieving the Gold Arts Award, which means he can earn UCAS points for university if he wants to attend. He also aimed to achieve all three levels - Bronze, Silver, and Gold - and he succeeded!

Jude Joins BSL Acting Intensive at Royal Central School of Speech & Drama

When he was accepted to RCSSD, he felt elated to have the opportunity to delve deeper into adult theatre training. Now is the perfect time before stepping into the professional world. The course runs from Monday 15th July to Friday 19th July 2024. This course aims to lay the groundwork for the future BSL Acting Diploma course at Central.

Jude to Attend Deaffest’s 15th Anniversary in Wolverhampton 2024

Jude planned to attend Deaffest two years ago but ended up not going. He is excited to go this year after hearing many positive reviews from past attendees. Deaffest will be celebrating its anniversary for over 15 years, offering the chance to meet talented deaf filmmakers, actors, performing artists, musicians, and others.

Jude Volunteers with Deafinitely Theatre on Deaf Day 2024

Jude Lands His First Role in Short Film Ava's Story

Jude's initial success in his acting audition coincided with his discovery of SignHealth, a fabulous charity dedicated to improving the health and well-being of Deaf individuals in England, Wales, and Scotland. As a result, Jude became involved in a short film that emphasized the importance of raising awareness about online risks.

Jude Officially Joins Deafinitely Youth Theatre for Autumn Term 2023-2024

Jude is overjoyed to rejoin DYT and successfully completed the Silver Art Award last year. He is now excited to pursue the Gold Art Award with DYT. Additionally, he will be performing on stage in February 2024 with only friends and family watching.
